Green Bike Share

Mission Statement

Improving student life at UC Berkeley means developing programs that work to better the lives of a diverse and multifaceted campus community. The Green Bike Share (GBS) seeks to make the quality of student life better by giving students affordable, environmentally sustainable, and increased access to bicycles; a healthy alternative form of transportation.

Leadership Team

Justin Wiley - Founder/Director
Justin Wiley is currently enrolled at U.C. Berkeley in the department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management majoring in Conservation and Resource Studies with a focus on Sustainable Development. Last year, he started a nutrition education program and agro-ecological farm at Renaissance High School in Watsonville, California. The project serves as a multi-disciplinary hands-on learning facility that creates awareness of health, nutrition, agro-ecology, environmental science, and the politics of food. The long-term goal of the project is to alleviate the school from the unhealthy, non-local food program by sourcing food from local farmers and the twelve-acre plot in their backyard. Justin also enjoys playing music, gardening, and riding his bike.

Marcelo is currently enrolled at U.C. Berkeley and pursuing a B.A. in Comparative Ethnic Studies at the College of Letters and Sciences. He is also undertaking the newly established Global Poverty and Practice undergraduate minor through the Department of International and Area Studies and the Blum Center for Developing Economies. He has been involved on campus with Students United for Peace, Resource Green, the Latin American Awareness Club, KALX Berkeley 90.7 FM, EGO Traditional Korean Drum group, CalCorps, and the Center for Latin American Studies.
